Frequently Asked

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer a trial class?

Of course, we encourage you to do a trial class - we have so many options (online, in-person, school holiday & community workshops) to experience our coding and robotics classes. Fill out the trial information request that appears on the page.

Do I need to be a techy grownup to help my child?

Not at all, you won't be expected to do anything technical or scary!

In fact, at our family and community learning sessions, we encourage the grownups to sit on their hands and be amazed by how much their child learns and can do in the just one First Class Coders session.

Our approach is about learning through play and our experienced staff will help you with anything that you need.

Why teach coding and robotics at a young age?

Coding helps children to think critically and learn to solve problems in a logical and creative way.

Coding is literacy in the digital age and its important that children understand the tech around them.

Having children learn coding at a young age prepares them for their future. Coding helps children with communication, creativity, maths, writing and confidence.

Early intervention addresses stereotypes, as children as young as 6 internalise stereotypes that STEM, Computer Science and coding are for boys.

Will this be too hard for my child?

No, our classes and courses are designed for children as young as 4 years old.

They are suitable for children who cannot read and write yet.

We encourage all grownups to book a trial class so you can see for yourself why so many parents and children love First Class Coders!

Are online classes live?

Our classes and courses are designed to be accessible to all, our online classes are live classes.

We also deliver 1-2-1 private tuition which combines live and pre-recorded lesson/coding challenges. Students watch HD instructional video lessons, can pause, rewatch the video, design, create and code and then test their work.

My child is nervous in new situations, should I stay?

Rest assured, we get it! some anxiety in new situations can be a good thing, and very normal.

Our classes are run with the highest standards and with your best interests at heart.

We encourage grownups to stay close by, usually the children "forget" about their grown ups when the classes start and fun starts.

I love what you do! How do I join First Class Coders?

We are looking for friendly, creative, enthusiastic people who have a desire and passion to inspire the next generation.

Our superstar team has a strong background in engaging and encouraging the next generation of creative thinkers.
